In the previous issue of the magazine we tried to offer a couple of good advice to specialists who are searching for a new job. And now we would like to detail about personnel selection from the point of view of the employer.

The point is that most agricultural enterprises do not have the necessary amount of specialists to work with personnel. The enterprises at issue are not of course big agro-holding, in which the staff of HR-department is sometimes 30 people. This article is aimed to help an employer who select personnel by himself and estimate the specialist without the help of qualified consultant.

So, you have a vacancy. The interview is the most effective way to select personnel due to the possibility of direct conversation with the candidate. That is why we will give detailed information about the most important things to remember during the interview and about the most popular mistakes.

There are some important moments when the mistakes of the interviewer will have negative effects. For example: bad aftertaste after the meeting, omission or deformation of the important information about the candidate, subjective opinion of the interviewer about the candidate as a person, negative business image of the company on the labor market.

Thus, it is very important to create a favourable atmosphere for conversation. Benevolence and sociability at acquaintance, several general questions and words will help person to relax and fell free.

Time and order of giving answer is another stage of the interview which determines further cooperation with the candidate. Very often the person is promised to be informed no matter he is offered a job or not, but very often the employer forget to call if the candidate is not suitable for him. It is very unethical, because the person is waiting for the promised answer and perhaps stops searching for a new job and loses its time. But the company searches for new employees time after time and such attitude discredits its reputation. It is very important to make the conversation completed, even if another meeting will never take place.
