For more than ten years of existence Agroprodservis, PAE has become one of the best economies of agricultural sector of the region as well as of Ukraine. The enterprise continues developing dynamically and shares secrets of its success as the motto of all Agroprodservis Corporation is “Fair partnership”.

— Ivan Adamovych, what is Agroprodservis today and how has it been founded?

— Today the corporation joins 14 enterprises in Ternopil and Ivano-Frankivsk regions. They are specialized on crop production, animal husbandry and service industries. The first two years of Agroprodservis existence were the most difficult, but we stood out. We were the first on the market of our region to offer grain storage, grow and sell elite seeds and animals. Shortly afterwards the enterprises were joint, and now we plan to enlarge in order to make management more efficient. So we plan the corporation to be consisted only of 7 enterprises.

— What part does pig production take in the structure of Agroprodservis, PAE?

— The animal production takes 20% of all production. But the correlation of the branches will change by 2015. We work hard to make Agroprodservis, PAE one of the biggest pig producers ofUkrainewith the capacity of 11 thousand sows. The reconstruction of old production premises and the building of new ones have already started in four villages to implement the project. We also signed the contract to buy high quality Danish herd for the replacement of our one. Besides we invited one of the best European specialists in pig production Wojciech Bakowski to be the adviser. We are sure that pig production is really profitable and perspective business when one has the correct approach to it.

— Nevertheless Agroprodservis, PAE as a dynamically and steadily developing enterprise meets the demands of the National program of the agroindustrial complex development as to the governmental refund of investments into building and reconstruction. How do you estimate your chances? In your opinion, what steps of the state would contribute to pigstry development better?

— Not only producers of pig industry suffer from the spontaneity of Ukrainian market. Because of its wrong regulation we cannot forecast price trends. It is difficult to call the market situation positive when the live pig prices vary from UAH 12 to UAH 22 per kilo. It would be the best for the branch evolution to create such conditions under which the enterprise could work steadily with 20-30% of profitability. It is very important not just to work out the programs of agrarian sector development, but to follow those programs, and not to break the rules.

If Agroprodservis is able to involve the state funds in the form of compensation, we will regard it the additional investment in the development of Ukrainian pig production. But considering the situation we can count on our own strength only. Now we are getting ready to become members of the Warsaw Stock Exchange, our enterprises are going through international finance examination. Due to IPO (Initial Public Offering) we plan to attract money for further development.

— Ivan Adamovych, what qualities are necessary for the head of such multisectoral company as Agroprodservis Corporation to sustain its development?

— It doesn’t matter whether it is small or large enterprise; the first condition is to love what you do. It is necessary to remember that the welfare of your family and the families of your employees depends on your decisions. The staff of Agroprodservis is growing and I have no right to let down those who trust me.

— What would you like to say to the readers of our magazine?

— Keep hoping.Ukraineis a reach country but very young. We need more persistence and optimism and everything is going to be good. It is very important that we have been developing, though probably not that fast we all would like to. The economic growth of the whole country depends on the work of each separate enterprise. We have to start with changing ourselves if we want to change something on the global level.

— What production results should the enterprise have to be successful?

— Why do the workers of the pig farm need to understand the language of pigs?

— What three problems should the head of any agricultural enterprise be able to solve?

— What kind of staff motivation on Agroprodservis, PAE is considered the best?
